Essential Functions1. Implements office procedures and coordinates appropriate office support in conjunction with the planned activities of the clinic setting including, but not limited to, schedule maintenance, registration of patients, medical record maintenance/review, referral system, managed care programs, fee collection and appointment/discharge process.2. With guidance from immediate manager, assists with personnel and payroll functions for assigned personnel including, but not limited to participating in the hiring process, training process and continuous coaching and feedback for the staff in relation to their performance.3. Ensures appropriate budgetary standards are implemented and maintained for labor and supply monitoring for front, back and clinical offices.4. Ensures compliance of regulatory and organizational policies and procedures, and recommends changes in the department policies and procedures as identified.5. Participates in regulatory and proficiency checks for quality management and accreditation requirements.6. Institutes high level of customer service in the front, back and clinical office areas in regards to patient, physician and inter-departmental contact made in person or by telephone.7. Coordinates the management of care to patients in the Multi-Disciplinary Clinic Programs.8. Consults for patient selection and ongoing management of care. Coordinates management of care with the medical subspecialty team members. Evaluates, treats, and documents patient care.9. Facilitates the progression of care. Coordinates education and guidance for the patient and significant others to maximize the achievement of the expected outcomes.10. Collects and assesses patient data to determine patient needs and to promote optimal care. Coordinate transfer of patient records. Calls and follows up with patients after surgery.Must be able to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, or unusual situations. Must be capable of dealing with periodic cyclical workload pressures and levels of responsibility. Required to make independent judgments without supervision. Must be able to make generalizations, evaluations, or decisions based on sensory or judgmental criteria. Must have the adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Requires the ability to work with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCESkills Possess critical thinking, prioritization, and organizational skills. Basic computer literacy and arithmetic skills. Working knowledge of patient billing including CPT4 and IDC-9 coding, medical terminology and various prayer classes. Ability to communicate effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing. Ability to effectively work under pressure in order to meet deadlines. Ability to provide dynamic customer service using various techniques including positive language, calming presence, attentiveness, clear communication, and patience. Thorough knowledge of clinical support functions to include special procedures, venipuncture, specimen collection and processing. Ability to organize and prioritize assignments to work independently as well as collaborative team member. Knowledge of regulatory agency standards (e.g. Joint Commission, HRS), Nursing Standards and Florida Nurse Practice Act. Working knowledge of HMOs, Medicare, Medicaid, PPO and third party payers.One-year of operational experience in an ambulatory practice setting in the same or similar specialty, preferred. One-year EPIC experience, preferred. Experience with data entry. Experience with spreadsheet and word processing programs. Bachelors Degree in Nursing, preferred. Current Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse and BLS, required at time of hire. Valid drivers license and insurance, required at time of hire.
