Responsibilities

Lead a Team responsible for:

  • Oversee and guide the implementation of new Revenue Management and Pricing technical systems and processes including the design, development, testing, communication, and monitoring success of the project
  • Manage Revenue Management and Pricing portions of Enterprise and Commercial initiatives
  • Create necessary communication materials for and serve as Revenue Management representative during Commercial Planning activities
  • Provide Legendary Internal Customer Service by consistently reporting to, communicating with and providing support to internal Southwest Teams as needed to ensure effective communication, project management, efficiency improvements, etc.
  • Ensure Team employs problem solving best practices to troubleshoot complex problems and drive project success
  • Create strategic vision and goals for future Revenue Management and Pricing capabilities with clear steps to achieving milestones
  • Follows the SWA Leader Expectations and Leads by example in all management practices
  • WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

    Project Management

  • Develop, train, and manage a Team responsible for the development, planning and implementation of applicable Enterprise, Commercial and Revenue Management and Pricing initiatives
  • Assist Revenue Management Director Team in design, development, communication, approval, implementation, validation, and monitoring success of Department projects
  • Represent Department on enterprise initiatives as a key stakeholder; maintain and communicate Revenue Management and Pricing views, accurately scope projects and develop realistic/workable plans and timelines with clear criteria for success
  • Proactively monitor progress, address issues and make mid-course adjustments as needed; executes the daily tasks associated with project progress; facilitating meetings, coordinating communications and maintaining project documentation
  • Drive project management best practices within the Department
  • Serve as internal consultant for ad-hoc Department projects as needed
  • Problem Solving and Process Improvement

  • Provide expert problem solving expertise via best practices; train and develop skillset within Team
  • Function as a liaisonbetween Revenue Management & Pricing and Technology Teams to identify business process improvements, application and infrastructure enhancements
  • Manage and drive meetings that deliver excellent results in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Revenue Management and Pricing systems and techniques
  • Revenue Management Capability Roadmap Vision and Innovation

  • Develop and maintain strategic vision for future Revenue Management and Pricing capabilities
  • Guide Department and provide direction in becoming the industry-leading Revenue Management department
  • Staying updated on industry technologies and issues pertaining to current and future initiatives
  • Stay abreast of recent advancements in Revenue Management and Pricing technologies and science and determine implication to Department's long-term capability vision
  • Communication

  • Prepare impactful presentations for Steering Committee meetings, Officer presentations and other ad-hoc Leader requests
  • Lead development of communication materials for Commercial Planning activities by gathering information from all appropriate Revenue Management Teams, packaging and presenting material
  • Facilitate Department communication and guide change management processes through applicable project updates
  • Present with impact and serve as coach for other Teammates on effective presentation techniques
  • Establish priorities and manage daily activities of Team

  • Develop Team through effective coaching, training and establishing accountability
  • Prioritize required tasks using excellent time management skills, align with involved groups and communicate to Teams
  • Lead multiple long-term and short-term projects simultaneously, with frequently changing deadlines and priorities
  • Responsible for hitting revenue targets, highly-visible project deadlines and goals as assigned
  • Continually evaluate Team health and make necessary adjustments to ensure high Team morale
  • Help create and evaluate goals for direct reports that support corporate objectives and personal career goals
  • Coordinate often with Teams across the Company
  • Communicate resource allocation and priorities up and down the structure to align Teams

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • EDUCATION:

  • 4-year college degree required; degree in Business, Economics, Finance, MIS, Math, Computer Science or related field required
  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 years in Revenue Management and Pricing, project management, or consultant experience required
  • 4 years previous Leadership experience required (Southwest Airlines Leadership preferred)
  • LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
  • SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

    Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
