PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Trayline Attendant, Tray Passer, Floor stock associate, Cafeteria Associate or Cashier may work anywhere in the institution where food is prepared. This person will assist in setup, serving and or delivery of food to patients and or customers and or process financial transactions and comply with established cash handling policies and procedures. Duties may include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work stations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but CCHMC may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among locations, depending on business necessities and customer requirements.
Act in manner that maintains confidentiality, protects and safeguards patient/family personal medical and financial information at all times during collection, use and storage. Access only information and records necessary to perform the responsibilities of your position.
Clean, prepare, store and provide adequate supplies of fresh, nutritious and palatable cold foods, salads and desserts and to maintain a clean environment for employees, visitors and patients. Cater food to various areas of the medical center and stock nursing units. Serve food for patients, and in the cafeteria. Perform assigned duties in the dish room. Understand and apply appropriate procedures for work flow. Perform dedicated duties in a timely basis. Provide prompt assistance to meet customer needs. Implement HACCP when necessary, record appropriate temperatures and take appropriate action when they do not meet the standards.
Keep managers fully informed of daily needs and problems that develop during the shift.

Demonstrate effective customer service to fellow employees, customers, managers and visitors. Follow CARES standards at all times.
Maintain specified procedure for cleanliness & personal hygiene. Attend required monthly in-services. Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures.
Skills & Competencies
* Follow Instructions - Basic
Ability to follow simple, routine instructions
Possess finger dexterity, manual dexterity and motor coordination necessary to manipulate necessary tools/objects
* Physical Stamina - High
Excellent physical stamina sufficient to perform frequent bending, heavy lifting (up to 50 - 80 lbs.), extensive standing and/or walking.
Pursuing work with little supervision or assistance; directing one's own efforts. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills
* High School Graduate OR equivalent
* 1 year of food service or customer service experience
