TITLE: Buyers Assistant DEPARTMENT: Merchandising REPORTS TO: Buyer WORK SCHEDULE: 8:30am 5:00pm; Monday through Friday

The Buyers Assistant will provide operational and analytical support for the Buyers within the A.C. Moore Store Support Center.

  • Manage all aspects of item maintenance.
  • Create Purchase Orders.
  • Complete and maintain Advertising Turn In sheets and Candidate sheets.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing department on Advertising samples for photography.
  • Track seasonal liability and sell through (POS reports).
  • Track advertising results.
  • Organize and track orders to ensure timely delivery .
  • Reset departments in the plan-o-gram room. This includes, among other things, moving boxes from the office to the plan-o-gram room, packing and unpacking samples, breaking down boxes for recycling, lifting and repositioning shelving, setting peg hooks, and printing and labeling items.
  • Assist with plan-o-gram financials.
  • Participate in vendor meetings.
  • Communicate with vendors and stores.
  • Send Weekly Point of Sale (POS) information to vendors as required.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross functional team (Store Operations, Marketing/Advertising, Distribution and Finance).
  • Provide manager with timely feedback on personal development and training needs.
  • Communicate with Allocation and vendors to provide information and problem solve.
  • Shop competition and A.C. Moore stores to identify opportunities.
  • Occasionally work in store, assist customers, and restock merchandise during particularly high volume periods.
  • Cover for receptionist lunches/breaks per monthly schedule.
  • A 4-year degree in business or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience working within a retail environment
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet all deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a strong aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Energetic and driven

    Work is performed in a standard office environment. Team members must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

    Ability to stand and/or walk, bend, turn, twist, kneel and/or squat up to 20% weekly. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. up to 20% weekly. Ability to ascend and descend a ladder safely. FLSA STATUS:
